In days gone by, nothing went to waste in the standard homestead, and this included the liquid leftover after churning butter. You might be surprised to learn there is no butter, per se, in buttermilk, and it is lower in fat than sweet milk. It was usually flecked with tiny spots of sweet, creamy butter that didn't quite make it to the top to be skimmed. Buttermilk soap is especially good for people that have had dry skin, or develop dry skin from the sun or air-conditioning. Skin should never be dried out as it becomes more prone to lines and wrinkles. Note: These are big bars of Milk Soap (130g) so they last longer. Some people with smaller hands or children may find it easier if the bar is cut into two pieces.
Our Cream Conditioner is one of our most popular products. It was made to complement our Milk Shampoo that was originally made for a family member who had a scalp so itchy they went to bed with olive oil on their scalp and cling wrap around their head. While shampoo cleans the hair and scalp, we feel it’s important to follow it with a natural conditioner that doesn’t coat or irritate the scalp. Most conditioners are made using silicone-based ingredients (usually big words that end with –cone) that coat the hair in something slippery, making it feel silky and smooth. They do a great job of making the hair feel hydrated and easy to detangle. The problem we find with silicone is that it can build up on the hair over time, making it feel heavy and limp. This usually results in a need for a different type of shampoo to get rid of the buildup caused by these types of conditioners. Instead, we wanted to make a creamy conditioner from natural oils that won’t build up on the hair and actually penetrate and hydrate the hair instead of just making it feel nice for a while. Using natural ingredients is not only better for your hair and scalp, it’s also much better for the environment. Ever think about what happens to your wash products after they go down the drain? Silicones and other synthetic ingredients don’t break down into their natural component easily in the water system. One thing we hear a lot about our conditioner is how lovely the smell is. We couldn’t agree more. For this, we sourced a phthalate-free fragrant oil so you can have beautiful smelling hair without the sensitivity. It’s also super popular with you ladies with curly hair to help keep them under control. Some even use it to wash their hair instead of shampoo. Just Google “the no poo method” to learn more.
We made this cream as a follow up to the first MooGoo cream ever made – Our Skin Milk Udder Cream because we wanted to develop something with a little more hydration action; a creamier cream per say, for the drier types. We made this delicious moisturiser full of natural oils that are high in the types of fatty acids that healthy skin needs. These help to hydrate, moisturise and pamper dry skin. We also chucked in some Milk Protein to help increase skin elasticity which keeps skin looking young, supple and s-MOO-th, and everyone loves that. The combination of Apple Cider Vinegar, as well as natural pear and vanilla fragrance, gives this cream a delightful smell. This cream is for absolutely everyone, including babies, and those with sensitive skin so rub it on whenever and wherever your skin could use a little love.
Goats milk soap is especially suited to those people with very sensitive skin. It is the mildest way to remove old oil and grease from the skin, and replaces these oils with pure nut oils and proteins. Note: These are big bars of Milk Soap (130g) so they last longer. People with smaller hands or children may find it easier if the bar is cut into two pieces.
This is our original Irritable Skin Balm which has helped a lot of adults and babies with their skin concerns. In fact, without any advertising it has become one of our most popular products through word of mouth. Please remember though that one cream won't fix every skin problem for everyone. Our Milk Wash is one of our most popular products. We combine small amounts of 5 different natural cleaners as this can be gentler on skin than one concentrated cleanser. We chose natural cleansers that wash well without drying out the skin. The foaming action isn’t quite as intense as it would if we used a synthetic detergent like SLS (or other common culprits that end in –fate), but we’re happy to make this small trade-off to use more natural ingredients that are healthier for us and the environment. Ever think about what happens to your wash products after they go down the drain? Synthetic ingredients don’t break down into their natural components easily in the water system as natural ones do.
We made this cream with the sensitive types in mind. We know how frustrating it can be for those with fussy skin that react to just about anything and everything. This lightweight cream is made using the moisturising base of our Full Cream Moisturiser which is full of oils that are high in the types of fatty acids that healthy skin needs and irritated skin loves.
Milk, Oatmeal and Honey Soap 130g Start the day washing with a natural soap that smells wholesome and and leaves your skin feeling soft and fresh. The finely ground oatmeal in this soap helps exfoliate the skin. Honey is a natural antiseptic and has been shown to assist skin repair. All of this is in a Buttermilk base. It just so happens that it smells like a healthy breakfast. Suitable for anyone needing a good scrub without drying the skin.
Many people, including babies, are troubled by skin that becomes red, dry and sometimes itchy around the scalp, hairline, neck, ears, eye areas, and along the side of the nose and mouth. These are oily areas of the skin and sometimes cause irritation. This moisturising cream helps return the skin to a healthy condition. Like all of our creams it can be used anywhere on the body and doubles a lovely overall moisturiser. Apply cream topically as required to keep skin moist and healthy. Always read the label. If symptoms persist, consult your health care practitioner. As with all natural products, patch test first to check for allergies before use.
Our Milk Shampoo is one of our most popular products. It was originally made for a family member who had a scalp so itchy they went to bed with olive oil on their scalp and cling wrap around their head. It took us 6 months of trialing until we were able to banish the cling wrap to the kitchen for good. We combine small amounts of 5 different natural cleaners as this can be gentler on the hair than one concentrated cleanser. We chose natural cleansers that wash and foam up fairly well, although the foaming action isn’t quite as intense as it would if we used a synthetic detergent like SLS (or other common culprits that end in –fate). But we’re happy to make this small trade-off to use more natural ingredients that are healthier for us and the environment. This just means a little more agitation required to build up the lather, which if you look at it another way, a great excuse for a head massage.
Most antiperspirants work by clogging pores with Aluminium salts. Aluminium in our armpits? No thanks. We feel that aluminum belongs in our roofs, not under our arms! Our formula works by allowing perspiration (which is odourless) and controlling odour causing bacteria. No bacteria, no smell. We are proud of developing this unique formula in Australia. Bottled in a 60ml roll-on to make it easy to apply. We hope you enjoy the peace of mind doing something healthy for your body brings.
